Power analysis

Route or sun elevation changed since this analysis ran — numbers below may be out of date.

Time of day06:00

Sun elevation3.0°

Near the lunar poles the sun never climbs far above the horizon — illumination stays grazing year-round, which is what makes permanently shadowed craters possible.

Turn on Plan route, then click the map to drop waypoints — drag a waypoint to move it. Give each stop an elapsed time (hours from route start); segments are assumed straight-line at constant speed. Power analysis uses the current Sun Elevation value throughout and casts shadows against the true (non-exaggerated) terrain.
